Project objectives

The Corporate Creative Director at Thermo Fisher tapped me to generate concepts and final creative for the 2019 Annual Report cover. This was a fun and challenging project since Thermo Fisher serves so many areas of science globally. The cover needed to reflect that sense of broad scientific involvement, and yet capture the brand's overarching ethos of making the world "healthier, cleaner and safer." The chosen direction, Option 3, utilizes small type across the front and back cover that lists out a wide array of scientific offerings the company supports it's customers with.

My initial directions were prominently red, since the creative direction at the time was to take this approach to corporate projects. However, in the end, after a few additional color explorations, Marc Casper, the CEO of Thermo Fisher went with the more natural blue sky approach shown above.
